I have a chick that can’t walk. She can stand shakily for a few moments if I prop her up but she has little to no balance. I noticed the veins in her legs seem very pronounced. She eats and drinks as long as I’m holding her up. Any ideas?
I would give the chick 1/4 to 1/2 a super B complex tablet daily (human ones, regular not time release, grind it up and mix in a bit of moistened feed). Vitamin deficiencies are not uncommon and can cause neuromuscular and balance issues. Also using a version of a chick chair will help it stay upright and eat and drink better, some examples in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/versions-of-chick-chairs-please.1166308/
I don't think the veins are an issue, the skin is thin and light colored making them more visible.
