Chick colours

This is my rooster "Squirt" he is a bantam. His dad and grandad were the exact same colour. I was wondering if he has chicks what colour they would most likely be. Probably mated to a light sussex.

Would his bright colouring be passed on to only rooster chicks or is there a chance he could produce he chicks with this colouring aswell.

I really would like some more chicks from my own chooks that arent black. 95% of my chickens are black so would really like some different colours. '

What do you think colours may be from this guy mated to a light sussux hen.

Well, hard to say since we can only see what genes he has that are expressed. Don't know what genes he may be hiding. All the more excuse to hatch tons of his chicks!

Agreed.

We have an overload of black chickens. They are all gorgeous

but would be nice to see some other colours running around aswell! Thought he would be my best bet with my light sussex hen.

Hes quite a nice boy, hes a bit timid but not nasty at all. His grandad was the first rooster we owned so this boy is a bit special.
