Hello, all! I'm so glad this exists. I am a first time chicken mama with two-week-old baby chicks. Today I got home and realized that one of my buff orpingtons had a scab right on her crop...I assume it was bleeding because there was a pine shaving stuck to it. She has lost her feathers on the crop too. It was definitely a full crop, can't tell if it's hard or not. I soaked it in water to get the woodchip off, blow dried her on low to dry her off, and put some triple antibiotic ointment on the wound.
She is acting totally normal, eating, drinking and jumping around. This definitely wasn't going on yesterday...I didn't notice it this morning either, but I could have missed it.
Does anyone know what's going on and how I can help her?? Thanks so much for reading!
EDIT: Doesn't seem to be impacted, it's getting squishier.
