Chick loss

Pics
The dark ones are welsummers, and the one light one is a buff Orpington. They were both supposed to be buff Orpingtons but as you can see, the white one is something different, lol. Everyone loves a surprise.
Of course who wouldn't I have 3 and I do have to keep a eye on them with my white crested black polish for some reason they do not like her probably because she's my fav

I woke up this morning to find another of my baby chicks died sometime during the night.
I bought four chickens three days ago at Tractor supply. They are my first chickens. I made a brooder with a cardboard box, bought a heat lamp, I am using pine shavings for bedding. I keep their water and food clean. I feed them Dumor chick starter, that is what the store was feeding them.
The first fatality was yesterday, and that chick was weak and sleepy, and just faded.
This chick was perky and happy last night before I went to bed. Eating and drinking water.
The remaining two are happy and appear healthy too.
What could the problem be?
Have you checked their bottoms? I have had problems with pasty butt from chicks that come from Tractor Supply

I had a batch of chicks a few years that started dying between 2-3 weeks old. I swore it was the shavings because they had a gross yellow mush in their crops. I lost 5 birds. I decided to try shavings again this year as I know a lot of people use them. I started with them under paper towels at first and then gradually moved them to just shavings. This time I provided grit in case they eat the shavings (A concern of mine). So far so good.

The chicks are 10 weeks and 9 weeks old at this time. They are doing really well. My first chickens! ❤️😍
