Out of 16 I have had 3 develop pasty butt. The first one I tried wiping it but I was worried about rubbing too hard and hurting something. What I found worked better for me was running warm water from the faucet and letting it run over the vent until the poop softened and fell off. Then I put Vaseline on the vent and wrapped the chick in a towel warmed in the dryer and dried it. I haven’t had it come back and they have been fine since.
