Chick screaming when pooping

Probiotics will help with digestive health.

The mild prolapse is most likely due to all the staining the chick was doing while trying to poop.

Get some anti inflammatory cream, or some aloe to reduce the swelling to allow the prolapse to go back inside? Cortisone 10, with aloe is what I recommend.
I can’t get cortisone on hand but i do have some other anti inflammatory creams with aloe.
Are you able to get pictures of the poop, & prolapse so we can see what's going on?
sorry for answering a bit late it was midnight and they were sleeping

(The pink is not blood its from my finger’s colour coming through the wet tissue)

That doesn't look too terrible.

Can you get a photo of the ingredients of the cream you have?

Preparation H will also help, it can reduce the swelling and give relief. I have read of others here using it in prolapses. Good luck!

Yes, continue what the others have told you. You will find Prep H at any store near laxatives. It is a greasy ointment.
The swelling has died down and now i am soaking the chick’s butt 2x a day also applying vaseline on the butt, and the chick looks to be doing better! Hopefully i can eventually stop cleaning the vent soon.

An update, the swelling is down but i do still need to get rid of poop a few times a day. Sadly the chick is not eating and drinking as much as i it should and is mostly resting, getting weaker and weaker. I’ve decided it might be best to feed baby bird handfeeding formula to the chick with some electrolytes to help the chick out.

Sad update the chick passed in my hands today, the chick does seem weaker than the others, never fully learned how to walk straight always falling over on food and water. i tried to do everything but i think the chick might be too far gone. the chick looked like she was still pushing before taking her last breath. i should've given extra water and maybe food by hand the second i saw only white poop 😢. i didn't realize white poop and the diarrhea meant she was going downhill. Not sure what happened with this chick, seemed weaker than the others since birth, at least the chick is not suffering from anything anymore.... 😭 i will now check chick's crops more often and make sure they are all eating enough.

I’m so sorry! Don’t blame yourself. You did everything you could. :hugs

So sorry your little chick passed. You did all you could for it. She very well could have had an internal deformity that was beyond your control, or perhaps a failure to thrive. It's always hard losing the little guys.
