Hello we are ordering baby chicks. We are ordering them soon and getting them in August. Will they be okay. The trip is from Texas to here in Louisiana for around 6hrs and we are worried it be too hot for them.

They need 95F their first week, so that time of year the concern is staying in a hot mail truck Or not warehouse too long. Talk to the post office and figure out a way to get them as soon as they arrive, rather than when the post office opens.

Also have chicks ever arrived the same day as they were shipped. The place we got them from is 6hrs from here.
Not in my experience, the USPS can barely deliver junk mail here.
I got chicks yesterday and it took 36 hours from Missouri to outside Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Ordered 15, got 18, all eating, drinking and being chicks.

Aleast the chicks are okay, but that time is bad. Good luck with them.
