one of my chicks hatched and i noticed he couldnt stand or walk, he kept falling over on his side or back with his legs out. iw ould try to flip him back over but same thing. i looked up splay legged and i put the bandaid as a brace for him like the hobble technique. it doesnt seem to be working, so today i put cardboard taped to the bottom of his feet, this still isnt working. people posted that as soon as they put the bandaid there or the feet taped to cardboard the chicks could stand, so i thought he would be able to... im wondering if something else is wrong. his legs dont really go out to the side like the pics i have seen so maybe its just in his hips? im not sure what to do for the poor thing it just keeps falling over on its side or back. any ideas?

thankyou!
poor little guy still cant stand, he wont eat or drink either... i dont know what to do

Site update: If it’s of any help to anyone in the future, the Poultry Podiatry website on chicken orthopedics & leg problems has moved to the new location linked in my sig line below.

Very glad the site is being of help!

i had one that i put the little carboard things on the bottom of each foot with tape over the top and bottom.then to keep his legs from spreading out,i tied a small piece of yarn together to each foot.he could move foward but not out.whenever he fell over backwards ,i would hold him up while he ate and drank.i carried him around inmy shirt pocket for about 2 days until he got so active he got the braces off.
