I dont know how to treat this. It struggle to poo but poo is normal. Checks of vent indicates no pasty but just the swelling which impedes its poop. Any suggestions as to how I can help it?
Going to try Magnesium sulfate soak.

How hot is your brooder? Too much heat or not drinking enough water can cause constipation. Has the chick had pasty butt before? You might try giving it a few drops of mineral oil or mixing a little molasses in water and feeding it for a laxative effect. Is there any prolapse noted? I have never had this problem, but I hope your chick gets better.

My chick is with its sibs and mother hen. They are all fine except for this one. I think it had pasty butt a for a short time many days ago but now it is just the swelling and struggle to poo. I dont know what to look for as far as prolapse. Do my pictures show prolapse? Thank you for replying.

There is more of a protrusion sticking out with a prolapse than what your pics show. Has the chick been pooping more? You can try some hydrocortisone cream on the area that may help.

I put some cortisone cream on its protrusion. Ill check it in the morning. Poor thing seems to struggle to poop each morning but runs around all day and eat well. Except for the bouts of what looks like pasty butt (struggle to poo) it is acting very normal. I hope the swelling goes down so it can poop easily.

Update: after just the one application of cortisone cream this little baby seems to be doing much better. Thank you for that suggestion. Im never sure what to use as far as meds and what us safe to use on chicks/chickens.
