chicken assassins!

hi i was wondering if any of you had issues like violent hens ?

i have been having issues with pigeons coming to steal food from my hens.
the hens are like any hens, quiet , sweet and fun . But once the went nuts and
KILLED a pidgeon and a second time almost killed another, they sort of gang up on one and pin it down
while biting and pecking :/

In my experience, chickens are pretty curious creatures and anything smaller than them is a potential snack. My hens have mauled chipmunks, frogs and possibly some smaller wild birds (never know if the cat got the bird and the hens are just cleaning up).
