Chicken ate a hair tie (ponytail)

Can you feel anything that shape in her crop? Hopefully she will pass it or it will be ground up in her gizzard. There is not a lot you can do about it now except to see that she has granite poultry grit available to help grind up food in the gizzard.
Her crop feels normal to me. I will check it again in the morning. She has grit in a container in her coop. Hoping she will just pass it!

Was the elastic hair band half an inch in diameter or one inch or larger? The photo of the hair bands gives us no idea of size.

Since the hair band was round, it likely will not tangle up with anything as it passes through the digestive system. Look for it in the poop in about 24 hours from when it was swallowed. But it may not resemble what it looked like originally so look for something pretty ground up but still in a somewhat ring form.

My 5 month old Rhode Island Red hen just ate an entire hair tie. Basically inhaled it before I could grab it. It doesn’t have metal on it, it’s just elastic with thread around it. But I’m panicking that it’s going to hurt her crop/cause her to die.
She immediately ran and drank water, and is now laying by the water dispenser. But she is still getting up to eat and drink. Is there anything I can do?
Hopefully she'll pass it just fine.

Keep us posted.
