Chicken attacked by raccoon

We did the amputation and I will post pictures. I tried to cut and clean as much as we could. Some feathers were attached to her and were peeling skin off so I left them for now. I went to the adult store, got some numbing cream and put that all over the area and bone. Husband clipped it with goat clippers and she didn't flinch nor did it bleed as much as I expected. Cleaned the area again and applied neosporin. Gave her amoxicillin and collidal silver. I also ordered a stronger antibiotic that should be here within 4 days.
This is our first time doing this and we are winging it. Looking for positive criticism.

Just popping in here. Good job Hard job. Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do. She was still drinking and eating so IMHO she should be saved if possible. As a aside. I wouldn't rely on trapping. I'd protect and it seems like you did that. Do you coop your birds up at night? That would be my suggestion. Make sure that raccoon can't get to them. As you said he reached into the run I'm thinking. Make sure he can't do that again.

Also up her protein feed, nurtidrench, mealworms protein will help her heal. She needs the building blocks ( protein) for healing. Maybe some vitamins if they will mix with the antibiotic. If they don't as soon as she's off them. Is she inside in a warm place and away from the other birds so they don't attack her or open the wound. I'm sorry this has happened. You take care of you too so you can take care of her.

We have let them free range for 3 years now. Two weeks ago we found 3 headless in the yard and we put the other 3 in the coop and let them out when we are out there. On the doors of the coop was a larger opening in the wire and my husband has placed a smaller one over it now.
We have her inside in an extra large dog crate. She seems to be doing okay right now and I will start her on protein tomorrow. Thank you!
