Hello all!

I live in a house with my sister who has a flock of 5 hens of varying breeds. My favorite gal is a Sultan named Lady Gaga. :) I help take care of the chickens (feeding, watering and collecting their eggs in the morning.) The ladies are just over a year old and had been free-ranging until they learned to hop the fence and the neighbor complained. Now they are in a 5'x15' kennel enclosure with a mesh top. I would like to expand their area with netting or fencing (how I found this forum!)

My sweet Lady Gaga is at the bottom of the pecking order. Naomi the fayoumi is the top hen and she attacks Gaga constantly, plucking her feathers out. Looking for tips on how to protect her, besides getting rid of Naomi. (Do they make chicken armor?)

Hello and welcome to BYC. I hope that you enjoy your time here. Pending additional information, I would be inclined to surmise that space issues are the likely cause of aggression. This link is a great resource - Space requirements and this Feather pecking

This is a useful link to take a look at - “How to...” guides. You may wish to consider including your location under your avatar (using the guide in the link above). You can use this link to contact members in your area - U.S. States

Best wishes

So happy you've joined us! More space would definitely help. Things in the run to roost on, hide behind etc can help with boredom. Having multiple feeders and waterers too. Good luck!
