Chicken Behavior & Welfare class thread! (free & online)

I love Coursera! I discovered it last month but I haven’t finished any yet 😂🤣🙈 started them but haven’t got around to finishing. Love what I’ve completed so far though. edX is another great one too!! But idk if they have as many animal courses. But they do have a ton of other awesome ones!!

You too can impress and amaze family at your holiday cookie exchange by regaling them with the history of chicken nutrition and the difference between animal welfare and animal rights! I’m so enjoying this course.
oh yes I am sure they are very excited for this hahahha. my uncle actually thought I was a vegan hippie living on a commune? because I told him we didnt slaughter our birds. no no, they're just not a meat breed.

I am also taking "the science of well being" which I highly recommend to anyone interested in how your brain sabotages you into being less happy and how to combat it. but I signed up for the first time in like March, did one lesson and ghosted it haha. the chicken class and BYC thread has helped me actually keep up with that one too
I just started! and many thanks to BYC and @jwehl for starting this thread. So much cool chicken related stuff out there...never would have found it myself. 🥰
I had a brief moment after doctoring a chicken where I wanted to be a veterinarian...so I looked into what that would require and it was too much so I look up animal classes on coursera instead haha

How can you love them if you haven't taken one?<scratcheshead>
Well, I did actually start them and liked what I had completed so far. Just haven’t finished them. I have signed up for and started several though. Sorry, the wording of my post was bit confusing I now realize.

Also, I just really like the idea of it and the other one (edX) in that they have tons of content for free and from actual reputable schools and organizations, etc. as opposed to something like Udemy (which I have also used) where you have to pay for each one and often times it’s just random YouTubers or even plagiarized presentations sometimes.

Now, they do have some good stuff on there as well and I’m currently taking several dog training courses on there, but you have no way of knowing what is good or not until you take it. Which, I guess the same could be said for Coursera and edX, but at least those are free as opposed to having to pay to find out.

So that’s all I meant really. Apologies for the confusion and hopefully that clears it up a bit.
