Thanks for starting this thread. We are newbies to the world of chicken ownership, and we have 15 chicks who are nearing 7 weeks of age. Two are Ameraucana, and they are the biggest girls in our flock. They are also two of my favorites, one a large reddish brown, and the other changing rapidly into what I am guessing will be a wheton (she has the coloring of a hawk or falcon). We purchased them at our local feed store, and the tank they were in said "Ameraucana/Easter Eggers". I wonder which we have. I can tell you that our Buff O's turned out to be Light BrahmasOh well - we are happy regardless.
