We bought 2 chicks a day ago from tractor supply that were labeled as Gold Laced Wyandotte Pullets. We’ve had GLW chicks before and the feathers on their wings did not look like this. Does anyone know what type of chicken this is?

Welcome to BYC! :frow

I agree, EE.

They (TSC) often have more than one breed and labels on the same bin. In addition they are notorious for mislabeling their chicks..

The local store manager was trying to tell me a light colored EE with beard and clean legs was actually a light Brahma.. which was there the previous week but had sold out and the label wasn't yet removed. She took it away and then put it back when she decided I was wrong. I walked away, knowing the truth. :)

Hopefully they will turn out to be as much fun for you as they have been for me! :wee

Thanks! We have definitely had our roller coaster ride with TSC every time we get chicks from them. Hilariously, we tried to get 2 Easter egger pullets from them several months ago which both ended up being GLW cockerels… so it only seems fitting that these be EEs! 😂 These were in a mixed container, but only with fully yellow chicks lol.

I had the same thing happened to me at TSC. Asked for 2 sapphire gems. She told me that I was lucky cause there were only two left. Immediately I noted one of them was different. Well, turns out he was way different.....lol not a pullet or a sapphire gem. He was a cockerel and a black Australorp. :idunno either way he's been lovely and lucky.....not sure what his fate would have been if he hadn't come home with me.
