Chicken breeders or Folks in South Africa?

Look what I adopted today, people moved house and just left them 6 weeks old poor babies.
Oh sweet! Shame so young and without mommy? Be sure to let them spend LOADS of time with the chooks RIGHTAWAY, now, during the socialization period of under 16weeks. To cuddle and sniff. Otherwise you might have a problem on your hands, the one in front looks like he's got Russell in him. What are their names? And please send MORE pics!!

Not sure where mommy is but luckily someone found them, they are so sweet and we already introduced them to the chickens. The broody hens were very interested. I'll put up some more pics this afternoon.

They are jack russel x fox terriers from what we can tell. The black one is Tiekie a girl and the brown one is Tok a boy.

Shame, yes, thank god someone found them - they are so lucky to have found such an amazing home!! I would leave them lying with the chickens for long periods until they are older, because those breeds are literally the worst for hunting small animals - that's what they were bred for. But if you socialize them so they think they are half chicken themselves they should be fine..

Yes my dad used to go hunting with them, they come with when I go to the chicken pen I'm getting them little jackets today they get cold easy

That's my plan with the Cochins and brahmas, they also apparently brood a lot so if I have 8 or so heads I should get enough eggs every week and still be able to let them sit on a few to have a nice stream of chicks coming in

that sounds like a great plan , I will use broody hens too , even with an incubator, hens don't use electricity lol
