It was our first incident in nine years, we think we don't get bothered much because of the dogs, so what you said is 100% true, you just don't feel safe, but I guess we'll get over it soon

Phew done cleaning the coops

The Silkies are adorable they are very tame, love to sit on my lap.

Gave them a container full of dirt to bathe in with some carba dust. They are covered in lice poor things.

1 Roo and 2 very broody hens, I checked them this morning they are much better.

They are true Silkies turqoise earlobes and mulberry wattles and combs, 2 beautiful

So I was finally able to have a long awaited lengthy visit with my chooks, and managed to get some pics as well. The guy whos looking after them for me says that the two white ones look like they might be roos, but at 15 weeks their wattles and combs don't seem to indicate roos, but maybe that's me being a noobie with chickens.

so far we have another 80 chicks that we can see hatching today, woo hoo , you would swear we have a chicken farm lol

on a side note I am going to start some quail cages this week , going to build them similar to this.... but with closed back and sides to keep out the cold and draughts.



o and don't worry they will have their own outdoor space as well , they won't spend their whole lives in a cage lol
