Chicken breeders or Folks in South Africa?

Pics
Hey guys, are there any truly autosexing breeds in SA? How accurate are the koekoeks?

Hi autosexing is not 100% accurate.

I have 6 koekoek chicks that is 7 weeks old one looked like a roo but now all 6 could be hens. If I go with the theory that the roos are lighter I have 2 roos an 4 hens but then there is the one were the roos comb colours quicker than the hens they are all hens lol

@hedz82 like nanna said its not as accurate as it should be, with personal experience it just confuses you even more then what you were and you spend a lot of time second guessing yourself, best just to wait till they get bigger and the adult feathers start coming thru or like nanna said to watch for the developing cones

@Colin Fow well here I am in the depths of kak land, trying to get eggsies and you gonna and done it - lovely looking turkeys - miss home so much and chooks - seen enough different chooks to last a life time wish I could bring them all home...

hehe @whoop whoop , was wondering where you had vanished too, I have lots to do before I can get them tho, need to make an extra large transport box and still need to give them their own personal space , they had about 20 of them so i'm hoping I can get 5 or so before they all gone , hope things are going ok over there , sure your chooks miss you too, hope you get home soon, with all those gorgeous chooks lol

CF no hope of coming soon - having to put parents in a nursing home and sell their house. On a lighter note hubby has gone ballistic with my chooks and built a gravel area for them and put in a bug farm and and and ......he has definitely got the bug. Up 'till now he has been saying to me 'those chooks better lay golden eggs they cost so much' lol

Lots of luck with turkeys, I am sure all the UK chickens will be out of moult by the time for me to come home ... hubby applied for import has to go thru poutry assoc huge mission but will persist.
miss ZA so much with all its probs
