Chicken brooding!!

I have just bought 3 baby chicks! they are 12 days old.. do i need 2 keep them under a heat lamp at all times or can i set it on a timer?? im using a 60w fireglow bulb is that warm enuf 4 them??

Trial and error would be the best rule. Turn the light off and see how long it takes them to cluster together to get warm. This will let you know how long the light can be off.
