Chicken Butt Cleaning

Is it normal for chickens to need their butts washed down every so often. My two hens with fluffy bloomer butts seem to need a bit of help in this area. Thanks!

Every bird is different in that department. Some are more messy than others. Certain foods can make droppings loose, so can consuming more water when it's warmer out. Some health problems can cause loose stools too. So it can be both normal and not normal depending on the circumstances.
