chicken cold

how do you deal with chicken cold? my roo has got a terribly runny nose. his whole body gets wet from him sticking his head under his wing and and getting it all over himself. i decided to try some electrolites, he seems much more active now but will this actually get rid of the cold?
i also have some vetrx but im not sure if it actually does anything. its seems like its just eucaliptus
