Chicken Coop construction UPDATED

UPDATE (including photos uploaded on website):
Got the rough wiring done, a 100 amp breaker panel installed, light boxes and outlet boxes in the chicken coop area. Picked up the metal roofing material and installed one section today before the temps hit the mid-90's, then I worked for another couple of hours on the interior. Decided to go inside in the afternoon, with the humidity at about 105%

and high temps, there's no reason to be working in that condition.
Going to pickup materials at Lowe's in a few minutes, gutters, trim boards and primer.
If it cools off some this evening, I'm going to go back out and try to finish the siding on the over-hangs and the section between the two roof lines. Tomorrow morning I'll install the nursery/storage room roof and start working on trimming out the building so I can focus on the install and building the run.

List of items:
Trim out exterior
Build run area
Install exterior door
Build run doors and coop doors
Build clean out door
Cut and install Styrofoam in North and West walls.
Panel chicken coop walls
Prime and paint chicken coop area
Trench electrical feed from house to building and run both electrical and water to the coop.
Build vent doors
Install gutters
Go fishing!

Primed trim boards yesterday and trimmed some of the metal roofing (got a few more pieces to trim and it will be done).
Going to order the metal trim from Lowe's to cover the edge of the metal roofing so it matches the carport (see images of carport). Picking up the Red primer so I can start applying the primer coat on the siding this week.
Will be running the electric and water to the building sometime in the next week so I can wire up the electrical panel and get some lights inside the building (it's getting rather dark inside without any windows cut out yet.

I've updated a few more photos on my webpage and have a number of other ones to download and then upload to the site. I'll see if I can't do that tomorrow night.

Starting to put finish trim on and prime it. This weekend I'm going to set the post for the chicken run, then go back to working on the coop.

Thanks. It just seems to be dragging on and on, was hoping to be done with it by now but there always seems to be something that slows down the process.
I'll be glad when I get power ran out to it so I can work inside in the evenings to finish the inside even if it's raining outside.

Hopefully get the post set Friday and then focus on cutting out the doors and trimming them for the coop. Going to have twin doors with a divider wall between them outside the coop in the run and will be installing a portable fold-up wall dividing the chicken coop in half. The game plan is to be able to split a group of birds up into two section inside the coop if we need to (I'll explain more when I have photos from the construction of it).

Anyway, this thing has got to get done quick.....the catfishin' season is about a month away and I'm not missin' that.

The Mrs. might have to learn how to operate tools and finish up if it's not done by then.

If you don't point out small mistakes, no one will ever notice. Nice job by the way!

Those two were just major ones that I couldn't live with, I had several other ones that I let slide (wasn't happy with it but I'm not correcting them now) <~~~ that's a huge step for me, I usually do not like to let things go that are not done right.

The wall and the building being square with the carport are things I would see every day and would drive me nuts, if I let them go without fixing them.

You have done an AMAZING job! Those are gonna be some lucky birds! I know from experience that these things take a lot of time and $$, but it is well worth it in the long run!

Hope you get done for catfish catchin'. My DH is in to fishing too and is so happy that we have finally finished our new coop.

Few more updated photos on the link below. It's going slow at times but i'm hoping I can hit it hard this weekend and be close to putting our keets in the coop next week....they're growing like a weed!!
