Everytime I put a date on it, something happens that makes me get way behind on it. I've got a lot to do yet......
Finish walls in both rooms
Paint walls
Lay vinyl flooring
rent a trencher and get a trench ran from the house to the coop
install the electrical wire and water lines to the coop
wire up the electrical panel, light sockets, plugs, exterior lighting
install utility sink and pipe it
build window frames and have glass cut for them
install the windows
build cabinets in the storage room
stain and seal cabinets
finish trim outside
finish painting exterior walls and trim
Build nesting boxes, paint, trim and install
frame out vent doors and build vent doors
Finish digging the post holes for the run
install fencing around run
install trim boards around run
Build entrance door to run
(I'm sure my wife has a long list that she's not even mentioned to me yet that she'll dump on me when I'm almost done with the list)

All in all....I'd have to say at least another 3 or 4 weekends to get most of it done.
Not doing too much during the week because I'm working 4-10's and by the time I get home at 5:15 pm, eat, do standard duties around the house and answer emails, it's time to hit the sack. So Saturday, Sunday and Monday are my main days to work on it.

Updated the page with some photos.....windows are installed...

I think I'm at the top of the hill and it's all down hill from here.....finish up the plywall walls this week and then start priming the walls for finish coat. My target is to move the birds in next weekend.

That is a great looking coop.

One thing I was wondering about is the tin roofing on the existing structure. It is running horizontally (I'm pretty sure you noticed).

Does that work out OK. I like the way it looks and am going to rebuild my front porch soon, using a tin roof. I'll have a 4/12 pitch on it. I'm also going to roof my 3'x8' coop with the same tin.

Had I known when the carport was installed (I wasn't home at the time) I would have required them to install it the other way. It catches snow and ice and all the rain water runs off the ends so your structure needs to be sloped correctly. A good rain and there's a waterfall of water at both ends....it's not fun walking to the vehicle while that's going on.

That's why you see my coop with the sheets running the correct way instead. I'll be installing a gutter system on it so I can catch the rain water to reuse too.

Updated the coop page. It's getting close, just need to trim out two windows, the vent openings and the chicken door, prime the trim boards and finish coat them and the rest I can do with the G's in their new home.
Going to wire up a temp. electrical line so we can run a heatlight. Still have to install some roosting branches and hang the water and feed buckets.
Plan on taking 1 day off this week and see if I can't have it ready for next weekend. We have 24 G eggs in the incubator and they're due this weekend.

Next is buiding the nesting boxes for my chickens, I'd like to get them fairly soon. Still have to finish up the trim outside the coop and do one more final coat of paint on the siding and trim, then install the outside lights, trench the main power supply to the building and then wire everything up.

It's turning out nice enough that I had thoughts of using it for my den.....and let the G's find and different place to stay.
