How many daysHi there, on March first I was given a chicken egg. I didn’t have an incubator so after many YouTube videos I decided to try to hatch it with a lamp... After many days I’m worried it’s not going to hatch. I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s still alive so I did the float test. I did it a day ago and then I did it again and today something is showing up in the air cellbut it was still moving in the water. Somebody PLEASE tell me if I should give up or if it’s okay

but at the same time it doesn’t mean it’s dead nor aliveIt's a goner then, sorry. The float trst is horrible. Just to test it I put a15 day quitter in who I knew was definitely dead in a dish with water, and it wighked a whole bunch too! I opened it up - rotten. I habe zero faith in that test, I'll never do it again. Its super unreliable at best, youd have better luck reaching into a hat and pulling out dead or alive cards than float testing. I'm not trying to be mean, just I don't trust the float test. I would open it up. I do think it could, I would make a small hole when you open it and let out the pressure, then open it up. I have had some eggs die very early, they usually never explode.
