Hello! I am new here, and I am also new to incubating eggs. I am on day 18 of incubation and need some help/ advice. I have 15 chicken eggs and 1 quail egg in my incubator and have been hand turning them 3 to 4 times a day. The last time I turned them was last night.
Problem #1: My humidity reader has stopped working, so I have no way of knowing what the humidity is at. While it was working (through the majority of the incubation period) it was sitting at 49% with all the reservoirs full. So I have added a couple pieces of wet sponge to increase the percentage, though I have no way of knowing if this will be enough. Any other suggestions for increasing the humidity?
Problem #2: I have 1 quail egg in with the chicken eggs and I completely forgot to stop turning it on day 14. Instead, it was turned all the way through day 17. Am I right to assume that this will delay its hatch day? Will it most likely hatch tomorrow? Or with the chicken eggs?
Thanks in advance!
