Chicken eye colors

Barred rock and all the rock colors are supposed to have reddish-bay eye color as adults. They will change a few different colors before then though.

We have Buff Orpington/Silkie chicks. They had dark brown eyes like their momma, when they were tiny. Now their eyes are starting to lighten. They look more light green/grey now. Hope they stay greenish!

This was when they were two weeks old, I think. Now they are four weeks!

I bought a barrred rock chick at my local co-op a couple of weeks ago. She has blue eyes. I hope that they stay that way.

I've had chicks that have green eyes which then turned to orange as they grow

I also have a few chicks (6wks old EE) that have blue eyes, does anyone have a grown chicken whose eyes stayed blue?

I have a BR named Blu. He is 8 months old and still has those beautiful blue grey eyes. I dont they they are going to change. I have two Comets with Blue eyes. three with BRIGHT orange eyes. the rest are regular.

few months back and they have stayed this way! I love their eyes...
