chicken eye

so this is one of my friends slinkie chicken, we are unsure on what happened, not sure on age but he’s young.
something is stuck on his feathers above his eye, we just thought it was mud, but then lifted it up and saw this to his eye. anyone experienced anything like this? what can i do?

Since we don't know what caused the eye to swell up, I would recommend washing it out with a saline solution and seeing if you can see anything in the eye. Afterwards apply some Vetericyn or neosporin without painkillers to the eyelid.

Keep an eye on it. If you start to see bubbles in his eye, you will have to pursue a different course of treatment.
