Chicken fountain

I have a Chicken fountain with a new valve, but it is leaking water from where the braided line hook on, also where the valve comes out of the fountain. Any help appreciated! I have taken the valve out and resealed it twice. I lost all the instructions.

How have you resealed the valve? Im not familiar with chicken fountain, but would teflon tape work?

Edit. Actually plumbing seal tape, aka teflon tape, may be hazardous to chickens. Maybe try a different type of pipe sealant on the threading, not the tape.

Maybe silicone caulk? As long as bits of it aren't poking out to look tempting for them to peck at?
