Make it impossible to stay on a nest:

• Collect the eggs a few times a day and dont leave any eggs where the broidy likes to sit. Get her off the nest as often a couple of times a day.
• if you check every evening and don't let them sleep in the nest boxes at night you can avoid getting severe broodies.
• Making nest boxes in different spots and closing the ones where the broody sits helps too.
• Never done this but some swear by it: put broodies in a cage with a wired bottom on some stones. So the wind goes underneath and the belly cools for a long time.

Thanks. I'll give your suggestions a try. It's just too bad that the chickens are not smart enough to know that without a rooster in the flock, there is no reason to go broody.

You definitely should sent you’re ladies to biology classes. Maybe a teacher can make it work .

Inspired by a broody Muscovy who has recently been given eggs (after sitting so dedicatedly on an empty nest for weeks)...and who tried to eat my hand when I reached under her!

Beware the broody:
The look in her eyes says she's
Ready to draw blood.
