Chicken Haiku

My hens are calling
They think its time for dinner
After bug hunt day

Dear Wife had a day off and she got her first chance to really hear the girls singing their egg songs during the day. The only other time my chickens make any noise is if a dog or something is snooping around the coop/run. I keep their feeder and waterer topped off 24/7, so I don't know if they make noise if actually hungry.

My chickens can’t be very hungry. They pick out the best /tasty food from the laying feed I give them in the morning. But the layer feed is never finished before the end of the day.
I give them A grain mix with seeds (scattered in the run) in the evening or whenever I want to lock them up. This is an easy way to let the chickens return to the coop/run. When they are returning to the coop because the sun sets they just like to get a treat. And shout so I won’t forget. Clever girls.

Back in five, I said
Fluff balls scratching, frolicking
Three hours later

 Missing time from alien abduction chicken overlord masters?

I think lots of us can relate to missing time with our small backyard flocks. I consider it quality time and so does Dear Wife who is more than happy I am out of her hair for a few hours, or whatever.... It's easy to have a supportive wife when my spending time with the chickens works out to her benefit too.
