Are there any of these chicken diseases or illnesses that can be passed on to humans? If so which ones and how are they transmitted? Also are there any diseases I should be concerned about when buying hatching eggs? Are there any diseases that can pass from parent to chick through egg transmission?

Eggs can carry salmonella and so can chicks. There are dander pnuemonia's that you can get from breathing in too much bird dust, although rare. And there are TONS of diseases that the parent birds can transmit to the chick via the egg. Too many to put down here.
