Chicken making a smack sound

The medicine was Baytril, I went out this morning before coming to work and changed there water, I'm putting 5cc to a gal and didn't hear any labored breathing and didn't see any deceased chickens so hopefully its a good sign.

I talked to a vet today, he said he wasn't an expert on chickens although his son has 200, he said he didn't think my chickens had a viral infection but instead a bacterial one, he gave a liquid that I dropped in each ones mouth and put some in there drinking water, he seemed to think that if it were a viral thing the tetracyclene should have worked, I'm not sure what the name of this stuff is and he said I might still lose some if they are too far gone. I've cleaned out there pen and added some new shavings, I bought some none scented oak shavings for part of the floor area and added some fresh dirt in another part, they seem to be happy birds scratching in the new material, I hope this works. Thanks for your help.
thanks for the feedback i also learns something

I am so happy that my chickens are better, this afternoon I didn't hear any sounds from them other that the normal chicken sounds. I gave them the last dose of Baytril in there water tonight, they drank a gallon of it today, so I'm truly hoping that will be that with breathing problem for now. If I had started them on the Baytril instead of the tetrecycline, I think I would have saved them all, but I still have 23, I lost 4. I just cannot believe how fast this medicine worked. But I just wanted to say thanks to everyone, I really love this site.

As soon as I got my chicken I joined the pet chickens around the world Facebook group. The members have a lot of experience, and they are kind. Some of the group's on fb are terribly and mean.
