OH MY GOSH! YOU SOUND JUST LIKE ME!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to TSC we leave with more chickens! What started with 4 on the first chicks days of the year has quickly turned to 15 (with 3 eggs in the incubator (1 just hatched)). Currently researching plans to build our own coop to house our crazy chicken obsession!

We have:
3 Amberlink
1 Black Sex Link
1 Blue production
2 Welsummer
1 Barred Rock
2 Ayam Cemani
2 Red Blue Lace Wyandotte
1 Light Brahma
1 Ameraucana
And successfully hatched 1 of the 3 Amberlink's eggs (still waiting on the other 2)

Yes.... I snuggle all my baby chickens lol

Definitely true... my wife and I went to our preferred local TSC yesterday morning for Black Oil Sunflower seeds. Well, they had four feed tanks with multitudes of chicks and they were all chirping. Keep in mind that my wife had been running me away from the tanks on my previous August visits. This time while I was getting the bags of bird seed, "she" kept looking in one of the tanks. When I walked over, I asked her what she was looking at and immediately noticed a lone black Turken chick. She told me she wanted to take it home. I then proclaimed that we had to get more so it wouldn't be lonely. Needless to say, the Turken now has five buddies that include two Calico Princess pullets, one Black Giant pullet, a cute little (I think OEG) Bantam pullet and what appears to be a Golden Polish (SR). I am on rooster probation so things might get a bit interesting as things proceed. These chicks are very healthy and were doing fine when I left for work this morning.

Awh!!!! Yay!!!! And I bet they're all adorable!!!

Well we had accidental integration yesterday of the big and little birds while my husband was out working in the coop. He went to freshen up the little girls water and when he opened the pen gate they all rushed him and ran out into the main coop. He said there was a bit of chaos at first; big girl chasing little girls-little girls running from big girls but no throttling and no major pecks. It seems they chased them around a it trying to peck at them.. The little girls have great survival skills and take to the air and get on a perch or get away from them. AND YES, my sweet Goldie, my Red Sex Link (also the smallest of the 3 big girls) is the worst and most grumpy of the 3 big girls going after the little ones. Now it must be said that my Lavender Orpington, one of the "little girls" is as big, if not bigger, than Goldie- so I think she is trying to make a point. We did not let them sleep together yet........but more to come. :highfive: Its another day:thumbsup hoping for the best!!

Sounds to me like accidental integration went really well!!! Hopefully everyone will be good little chickens and be nice to each other and the world can be rainbows and sunshine from here on out! Lol. Here's hoping! How did today go??

Tell me you got them and that you got 3!!!! Chicken math is the best kind of math!!!!!

Chicken math is a huge problem here. I started with six and now we are at twenty. My niece and sister help by bringing chicks/roos that they can't keep in town.

Our coop will hold 36... we're at 30 now.... I *have* to stop. Lol. But, boy, do I know how you feel! Yay for incoming eggs!!!!!
