I was in the midst of trying to hatch out my first ever batch of eggs when I sent out the mullah for batch #2 !
Isn't this closer to Enron math? Trying to 'count' what I don't yet have!
Instant addict maker... I need to start to pretend like Chicken Fairies don't exist!
My Fairy keeps appearing at my bator...giving my Hovabator more eggs, just for being a good little bator...she's even bringing me a back-up bator for trying to be a good incubator 'Mom'!
My first batch of babies just rounded the bend into their fourth week and I already have 6 more eggs in the current bator that are on day 10... add to the fact that, now, with the new bator coming Wednesday, I already heard from a little chicken baby (that must be 'tight' with the Chicken Fairy) that I will have 8-12 brand new eggs magically appear in the brand new bator!
Is there an immunization I can get for my Incubatus Chickenitis?
Because I already have plans for more eggs in the spring!
I went from 5 to 10 chickens 2 weeks ago. Chicken math struck for the first time. In addition to my 1 Wyandotte, 1 Ameraucana, 3 Orpington (2 roosters) I added 5 Partridge Chanteclers. So happy! I know some day chicken math will strike again... maybe when I have another broody
I've found that the math isn't just for chickens. I was supposed to get 3 ducks and ended up with 11. Was only supposed to have 2 breeds of chickens and am building the pen for a third. Oh well
Lol...I love reading of other people's struggle with chicken math.
I first ordered 4 from a hatchery (4)...subtracted one because it was no longer available (3)...received 4 (4)...got 16 hatching eggs (possible 20)...hatched three (7)...gave away two (5)...lost one to impacted crop (4)...ordered six more (10)...received 8 (12)...lost 2 due to shipping (10)...ordered three more (13)...contemplating what else I can get in the spring!
