Chicken math

Oh I am totally an enabler. That is how I get away with my own sickness lol. "But... but... but everyone else is getting some."

Ideal hatchery still has awesome deals on day olds. Just sayin.........

If you go to advertised specials and click on the picture of the assortment they should show up.
Give it a try and let me know what happens. I had trouble with the site a week ago.

The special prices are for lots of 25+ from what I have been seeing.

As soon as my Dark Cornish girls stop going broody (7 so far this year with another one thinking about it), I'm going to order some more chicks. Lol!

I figure I might as well take advantage of nature's design to get some cute babies, plus you can't experience the newly hatched chick and broody mamma thing when they are mail-ordered..

Today was a sad day. My little batch of nine chicks has been moved into the main coop, and I am now suffering from empty brooder syndrome.
I went to the feed store, because "we're almost out of feed" with every intention of bringing home some more babies! All three of my local feed stores have finished carrying chicks for the year :(

I know the feeling though. I took apart my indoor brooder today. I need a house for the Polish and the base is just right for it.

I know exactly how you feel. I have chicks that are 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 7 weeks and 14 weeks old right now. One of my Dark Cornish girls went broody a couple of weeks ago and I justified setting some eggs under the other day her because she was just so pitiful. Lol. With all the Dark Cornish girls we have I never need to order chicks, just find someone who looks a little broody and she's ready to go.
