Chicken "mutt" club!!!

Pics
I agree with the breeds mentioned. I am wondering if that last one is what TSC and places are selling Gold comet, or Gold layers. I haven't seen one, and don't have one, but it looks very similar to the red layers that my daughters picked at the feed store, just a lighter color.
I was told she was a wyandotte mixed with a bantam. A friend gave her to me...

...just wish i knew what she was a mix of.....colors...rainbows....chickens.................

Oh, but that is the FUN of Mutts - even if you KNOW what the mix is you aren't sure what they are going to turn out like! I am sure the will be (mostly) beautiful. The mostly is because some of those Naked Necks aren't beautiful. Striking yes, odd also - but not really beautiful...

I'm the same way, I wanted my hen to raise some chicks so I didn't have to. I have some older chicks, too old for her. Tomorrow is supposed to be hatch day for her. She is still sitting so we shall see. I'd love to get chicks or at least 2 chicks for her but there isn't any place near here where I could get chicks. I hope one chick hatches for her.

I had a hen that took over a 3 mo. old rooster that I introduced to the flock! He was just about her size. Shocked the heck out of me. At first, he loved the security, then she drove him nuts for weeks!

My Naked Necks are SOOO ugly, they're cute! And personality plus.

i got these chicks 2 weeks ago can sumone identify this lil baby is it mutt or what breed
Those look like Red Sex Links, which is what the feed store calls "Rhode Island Reds". They aren't really a "Mutt" because its a cross used for production brown egg layers - but they aren't a breed either. They can be really good layers - and can be friendly too. They are cute!
I have 2 red sex links right now, and they don't look like that at all. Mine were orange chicks with 2 dark orange stripes on their backs, and then the tips of the wings are white and the rest of the chick is red. They might be golden comets, sexlinks, but through different starting breeds. The adults are almost buff in color but have white spots throughout, or they might be something else entirely. Google golden comets and see what you think. That's how I figure out what a chick is. I google all the breeds it could possibly be and then just find the one that matches. When a chick starts to feather in really well it gets easier and easier to google your way to the answer.
