Chicken newbie- urgent- mareks? Lost 2 chickens suddenly

So sorry for your loss. It is especially hard on kids, I am sure. You can do a necropsy (autopsy) shortly after death, and sometimes can see evidence of coccidiosis in the intestines. Hopefully, you won’t lose any more. Here is some reading about coccidiosis:

Thank you. Anything I can learn helps! Luckily this isn't my kids first experience with loss of a pet. They know it's part of life, but still tough.

Update- still treating 7 remaining for cocci. This morning it looks like a few have blood in their poop. Can this just be the cocci working its way out? 20181028_075126.jpg 20181028_075136.jpg

Then it would not have mattered and may very well be Coccidiosis Corid can be bought at even walmart now I think
Hey, just popping in to say you can buy it through their website but it’s not available at any of the Walmarts in or around my town.

Maybe it is only available “in-store” at Walmarts in rural areas.

It sure looks like your batch had developed coccidiosis. They should recover with the Corid.
And I think your assumption is right about the 2 you've lost having had weaker immune systems and that is why they succumbed before showing clinical signs. Don't beat yourself up over it. :hugs

Thank you! I needed to hear that :love

When the Corid is finished, give them a few days of vitamins and probiotics. Hopefully the bloody mucus will clear up. Are they acting okay?

Ok, thank you. I did pick some up for when they are done with Corid so I'll give that to them in a couple days when we're done. They are acting completely normal, so I'm not super worried.
