So, my chicken Penny was the first to start molting. Her entire back is naked and she's losing some feathers on her sides. My other chickens are starting to lose their feathers too, but they only lost one little patch but their new feathers are groing back already. Penny has been naked for quite some time now but there is no sign of new feathers. I was thinking if maybe my other chickens pulled her feathers out because they pecked a hole into her side. Does anyone know why she is still naked and what I can do for her? Thanks!

Since the others pecked a hole in her side she should be either separated, or get a chicken saddle to put on her. I would try the chicken saddle first, because re-integrating a lower ranking bird will be difficult on her. Do you have any roosters?

Well, I separated her alread and it's all healed now. They don't seem to be bothering her anymore. I don't have a rooster. But why does she still have no feathers on her back?

You'll have to wait for her to molt to grow the feathers back.

It's been so long and she keeps losing more and more feathers but she's not growing any back. Could the other chickens be picking on her?
