We have yet to say what happened with all this.

I paid $486.50

For the vet bill and cremation of the dog.

They (The Police) kept the pellet gun and are going to give back the neighbors Be Bee Gun.

I have no record and the citations can be expunged in a year (Oregon law says I have to wait a year.)

This is what I agreed too so not to have charges filed and to make it go away.

We could fight based on principles and the cost could run in the 6000.00 to 12000.00 range. Fighting to say I’m right. I’m already out at this point around 1000.00 dollars.

Mr. Gapp can try to come after me civilly or I may go after him the same way. I this point either way I would make him look like the biggest fool that walked the face of the earth. He already has done a good job of that all by himself.

My Attorney calls it blood money and I agree. Do I like it? NO!!!. But I’m saving my family the cost and the stress of a long draw out trial. If it gets people to wake up then it is worth the cost.

I want you all to know the costs.

This is not over yet, as I weigh out the options.

Gun rights, Self protection and the protection of my family.
Property protection rights, Private property rights.
Chickens and turkeys rights

Animal abuse 1. What about the abuse my chicken and turkeys were going through because of Mr. Gapp and his dogs.

The mental and emotional stress that my family and I have lived in for months, as we tried to find out what was going on and where were these animals coming from.

A load has been lifted, a heavy weight tossed off for the moment. I would be the biggest fool to think this is over. Mr. Gapp and all the other irresponsible dog owners still can choose to be and do the same the same.

Luckily I have TURKEYS and they do make a difference. “Dog owners beware”.

The city of Redmond, we are going to have a face to face about many things I’ve learned. I have the time and I’m angry.

Who could not be given the lack of common sense in what has played out here.

I have seen the vet report and it was a pellet that caused internal bleeding and a collapsed lung.
We at first wondered the same things.

Ed I do not have much right now but I'm willing to donate for a fund to go after the city, or Mr.(cough cough) Gapp. The police were wrong to charge you without a vet examination, they also have no right to keep your pellet gun, ask the NRA for help on this. You were defending your family and city ordinances do not negate 2A rights.

Sorry I just saw your post on the vet report, but you should not have been cited at all let alone before a report.

Mr. Gapp I was told was instructed to drop the matter and buy a leash by the DA.
I'm told Mr. Gapp is very angry about the whole deal.
The DA say if both parties are unhappy then it's fare.

Mr. Harris, I want to thank you personally for all of us here, especially my family, who have yet to have chickens or turkeys ( I actually want a little of all the domestic exotic birds ), we are learning alot about what can/could/might happen to ANYONE. I am sorry your family has been put thru this, I was on edge reading your statement and when you couldn't see/find your child/children my heart stopped, I have 3 children myself. I have no idea how scared I would be in your shoes, but I know that it would not be good. I am glad that the kids are ok, I am sorry, I can't find where the birds were hurt?? I really hope not. I am also glad your not one to back down and bury your head in the sand. LOL sounds like you and horsejody are of the same stock.

So what about the dog whisperer? Did Cesar respond about the dog park? Maybe he could train Mr. Gapp for one of his shows. I really enjoyed seeing him on the episode of Bones when they busted a dog fighting ring.
