Since getting chooks I've just started to notice how many chicken related expressions we use in every day language...

to be cooped up
don't put all your eggs in one basket
your chickens come home to roost
getting your feathers ruffled
the pecking order
to be hen pecked
I haven't heard a peep out of the kids

Can you think of any others?

Well you hit a lot of the ones that I've heard growing up....

Squawking like a bunch of hens.
There's a rooster in the hen house.
Something to crow about.

This can't be right though...my girls do not mind being wet at all. They got out in the rain all the times. Now snow! Thats scary!
