I have my incubator in my room too. I also share a room w/ a sister - a younger one though. Which is worse -

I set 8 of my button eggs in at 4:48 - buttons are suppost to hatch right ( almost ) to the second you set them in the 'bator so....we'll se!!!

Candled all my chicken eggs. My EE egg was so dark and the chick was so big I couldn't really tell but I'm fairly sure it is still alive. The Blue Andalusian egg is 'def alive! It was moving ALL over the place!

The other 9 eggs are only 3 days "Old" so I couldn't see anything in them..chick wise anyways!

Indeed they are! Pecking, kicking, rolling, scratching, I don't know exactly what they are doing but they're doing something! Not peeping, though...

I wouldn't worry about not peeping then.

Going to bed. Will be on tomorrow after school!

I'm probably going to get done faster then I ever have before so I can get on BYC and worry myself to death about my buttons!

Any Action ? Give them time... Hatching is a risky business, sometimes things are good other times not so much...

I used to have a good thread about helping stuck chicks out of eggs.... will look around and see if I can dig it up, if I cant find it and things still look kinda bad I can tell ya what I know... The first couple of hatches I had to help almost all the chicks out of their eggs (Humidity Problems) You get better with practice now on average I only have to help one or two chicks...

Ok I used to have a thread with pics and everything but it looks like it might have been deleted or removed during an upgrade or site cleaning (was a few years ago )...
I found this one

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9316

I have not done this with an egg that has not piped already so I dont know if this will work in your case...
A few things to keep in mind,

1.) GO SLOWLY
2.) IF YOU SEE BLOOD STOP ! WRAP IT UP PUT IT BACK !
3.) GO SLOWLY

I usually wait and give them ample time to get out on their own... I usually only help the stragglers or If I know something is wrong.

As long as they can breathe and the humidity is not too high they will be fine for a day or two... I have had chicks hatch on their own at day 22 almost 23 (Granted that was probably incubator error... or human error

) The more you incubate the easier it becomes... oops looks like I am enabling

.

Make sure you read the thread I linked and that you know what to do... you do not have to use tweasers, some people use toothpic's sometimes you can use you fingers....just go slowly and carefully, and if you see blood STOP...

This also might sound a little funny but try practicing on raw eggs..... that is if you plan on having breakfast or cooking something. Just lightly tap it on the counter to try and put a little crack in it that you can work with.... see how far you can get removing eggshell with out damaging the membrane...
