There should be more birthdays in this world! (of course then we would all be older), anyway....

So, my addiction has moved to a new high! I took all of the E.E. eggs out of the fridge yesterday and then put them in my incubator today, they were all less than a week old! Then I called a lady that has fresh eggs and ran over and paid her $20 to get me some (ok, 6) directly out of her henhouse!

Then I got home and made arrangements to pickup an E.E. rooster on Saturday, I rehomed my 'Sylvester' last week, he attacked me once too often! I had to start toting a shovel in the coop with me. I warned the new owner (who also bought 8 hens)! I also got attacked by Sylvester when I put one of the hens in the cage with him. The new owner still wanted him!

SO I found a lady who has 14 extra E.E. roosters and told her to pick me the friendliest, purty-est, most gentlemanly and quiet crowing rooster she had!

Well, 5 AM comes early, guess I better zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Muggs I'm so glad you are getting good veining on the BBSO's!!!!!

Does any one know how to go to the exact page of a thread where I posted and read that posting. When I search my posts, it just brings me to the thread.... I wish I had added that to the request list for BYC, maybeit's not too late. Since we don't have a folder, I'm trying to find some pics I posted on one of the threads, instead of going throu pages and pages of photos!

Thanks and thanks Muggs for the sympathy and empathy. It does help!

So did you get a new roo?
I haven't gotten to the point of relinquishing my big roos into the world...in case I need them! They are in the "bachelor pad" which means loose in the middle of the coop, surrounded by breeding pens. One of my Wheaten Ameraucanas is getting testy, and I'm a bit leery. My Jersey Giant has always been sweet to me and his girls, but now that he is in the bp, he seems too curious over what I'm doing and I have to remember every person's advice I've heard before...never turn your back on a rooster. I want to find a home for this big guy. He is too sweet to donate to the soup pot.

geeze I drove 40 miles in the snow to get here on time and it's 15 past opening time and not one of my coworkers (who live nearby) are here. I hope my office is open today! LOL.

How bad are the roads? We had school cancelled, but it doesn't seem bad at all. Weird. I'm grateful, though...I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I'm wondering if I actually have allergies, instead of a 3 month cold!

Yeah, I like being able to go in the coop without worrying that I am going to be attacked!

I have a 3 month-old Black Australorp cockerel that I bonded with when he was in the "hospital brooder" as a month-old after his wing had been bloodied. He will eat out of my hand and is now called 'Trumpet', because his crow sounds like a fanfare from a bent trumpet! I don't think he has started mounting yet, he runs from the adult hens, even though he is getting bigger than they are!

I also have 'Little Man', my OEGB who is the same age as 'Trumpet'. His idea of fertilization is to grab hen by her neck feathers and dangle there while she runs! The hens are 10x his size, but that does not faze him!

I guess I don't need an adult rooster, and I dread quarantining, but I am addicted to incubating and I need a rooster to enable that process!

Pretty sad when I have 2 posts right next to each other lol

I have 12 "Crested Special" Straight run chicks in my "cart" and my finger is twitching towards the 'Complete order' button!

I have 1 mottled houdan egg in my incubator, but... ?

I love crested chicks, and chickens...
