Lol, I love that....Addiction is a learned behavior? or is it gene based??? Ha! Congrats on selling those poultry Muggs! Hope I can sell 13 beautiful Heritage RIR's this week and 2 lovely Buff Orpington pullets and also looking to sell a small flock of welsummers! It would leave more space for some up and coming chicks!!! We had a very sad loss today, My netherland dwarf Lilly who was due to deliver babies in 4 days died very unexpectedly today...I was able to hold her for her last hour of her life but no intervention was possible. Autopsy showed nothing notable. No matter that we have hundreds of animals, I love each of them like my own child. The unexpected death ....of a seemingly healthy and young bunny still shocks me. I sold two of her three babies she had back in October...I wish I had kept them all.... But I have one precious living memory of her, her son. She was so sweet and little and even as she was dying nuzzled against me with the little energy she had left. Forgive me for digression here. I guess I had to say something. On the more positive note, we are still hopefully awaiting bunnies from our gigantic New Zealand.....If she's not pregnant, she's going on a diet and exercise program
Oh no Nancy! I'm so sorry about your bunny!
Each of our animals are so special to us...it hurts to lose one. I wish you were closer, I would snag a few of your BO's and Wellies. I don't know what it is about the orpingtons...I just love 'em. My Wellie hen lays a relatively small egg. I need more to boost the flock. Hmmm...I may need to get some hatching eggs from you in the future. We candled eggs a few days ago...your Blue/Black/Splash Orps are doing fantastic (knock on wood!) in the bator...bold veinage!
And of course I can't see a darn thing in the Wheaten Marans eggs...but I try anyway!
I sent 2 of the Lav Orps and 4 of the B/B/S eggs to a friend's house to hatch. The other 2 Lav Orps I had were duds.
So I'm crossing my fingers for the other ones.
