Chicken (Poultry) Addiction Anonymous *Chat Thread*

I had company today, and George the poop-head Silver Sebright roo (as opposed to the more mellow one, Alex) challenged them both. (I've taken steps to make sure all my roos know I am The Boss of Them All.)

Anyway, we cracked up as George charged Farmer Lew's leg. Several times. We tried to get photos, and did get a couple, but he was so fast we never got any of him connecting above the Big Person's ankles.

George is VERY fierce.

He even flogged HHandbasket's ankles a little while later.

I removed the three hatchlings from the 'bator and put them in the brooder with "everybody else," including Tiny Tim, the disabled cockerel. I don't have a separate brooder cleaned out and ready for 'em yet. They figured out drinking and eating okay, though. The Buff EE is almost orangey. Both of Muggsmagee's chicks are clean-legged. The bantam cochin from the other source is SO tiny, and its feathers look like they just might frizzle up.

There are three more eggs pipped amongst the 13 remaining eggs. I didn't see the pips until I lifted the 'bator lid to snatch up the babies. Luckily, it's a Brinsea, so it shouldn't muck with the humidity long enough to shrink-wrap anybody.

Ok, so I just got my first batch of chicks about a week and a half ago and today I'm getting rid of 9 of them, only going to have one left. So sad

At least my order of pullets will be coming at the end of this month

Will you have a buddy for the one lone chick? They shouldn't be by themselves. That's not just the enabler in me speaking.

What are you getting rid of, and what is coming at the end of the month?
