I grew up in Houston. Lots of friends still there, and one cool BYCer that I know of there. I'm always curious when a common or familiar place is mentioned, how many people we each know, know each other! 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon, and all that!

Hi from Sunny Georgia,,,,LOL, but not today........We love our chickens, guineas, turkeys, geese, ducks, pumpkin hulseys, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, etc. etc. Yup I'm on a farm..........where the feed bill is higher than the average house payment in our county...
We live on a farm too. Not a big one. I guess it would be considered a hobby farm. We have 12 acres and a river right at the back end of it. It would be nice if we had the room for larger animals but we don't. We both are still working full time. We have a small lawn maintenance business and we clear snow in the winter months. Actually, DH and his crew clear the snow. I do all the administrative work, but i do go out and work on the crews in the spring, summer and fall.
I don't know if what we have is considered a farm, although we are surrounded with real farms. We have 26 acres, of which about 5 are cleared (mostly). The rest is thick forest. Also have a big horse barn (with no horses) and assorted coops that DH and I muddled through building. I wish he had 'guy' friends that would come by and help us build awesome coops but for now what we have is working.
Oh, and we moved to upstate NY from california a bit over two years ago. What fun! It's a good thing too, as our house in the socal mountains had NO room for chickens..!
Can my Gold Sexlinks be entered in a show? For more than just egglaying? For actual looks, like normal chickens? I reallyreally want to enter one of my chickens in a show
