She's sitting on the eggs... A broody cat? Oh, great. Now I've seen everything

It's a good thing that she leaves your chickens alone, though!

Muggs,

Personally I would put a huge paint spot on the offending dogs and inform the owner that your "birds" are farm animals and protected from her "bird hunting dogs" by law....the penalty for reoffending is DEATH. She might be more agreeable to keeping them home after knowing that they can be caught and put to death for violation of the law protecting farm animals.

HELP me think of good reasons why I should NOT order more chicks!

I have not had a "cheeping box of happiness" for almost a month and I am getting withdrawals!

Ideal is sold out of almost everything, so I have been toying with a rooster assortment (I might get a pullet in there) OR some S/R crested specials!
I know, I got 7 crested specials in my last order, but I lost 2 and I want more chicks!

Or maybe get CRAZY and try a different hatchery! One that has pullets available. Or maybe more S/R bantams....

I think I really am just a little depressed and I need a little pick-me-up, because it is nice outside and I have to stay inside and work and I have a rotten cold!

You shouldn't get more chicks cuz 2011 is the year of less....besides you can hatch some FOR FREE if one of your current flock goes broody... It's almost spring (so they say)

I currently have a broody on 9.5 eggs, they are due on March 15-16-17th. The .5 is a bantam egg, my OEGB started laying at 4 months OLD!!!!!

I still want a cheeping box of happiness, but I should leave it alone for a while! My niece and nephew are coming to visit in a few weeks, maybe I'll wait until then...

Polish chicks are SOOOO cute!!

BTW, if you Google "Polish Chicks", make sure you have Safe-Search enabled!

Oh, and when I said "Less", I meant Less-everything-but-chickens!

Oh do you have a broody cat.....I've had one loves to get in the tractors when I feed and go to sleep in the nest boxes....LOL but doesn't want to spend the day there!

Finally found a local show quality chicken breeder!

Username "jeremy" on BYC. Breeds Blue Orpingtons and Wheaten Ameraucanas. I'd loove a Blue Orpington for showing- all afternoon I've been looking at pictures of jeremy's Orpingtons and comparing them to the Blue Orpington standards in the Standard of Perfection. They appear to match!

However, I can only purchase pullets or cockerels around Aspen and Quinn's age

But still, the offer is tempting...
