Sad day, lost our Pointer mix to something she ate, we are guessing a poisoned rat or something. Wife has been sniffling all day. Our two little Rat terrier pups are sick too as we found them messing with another dead rodent and we came to find our neighbor was having a rat problem and set out poison bait, "we aren't happy with him". Hopefully the two little ones recover with their repeated charcoal shakes and TLC at the vet. Haven't seen any other rats though so hopefully no more will come. All the animals are on lockdown until I do a thorough check of the property, which will take several days.

Why is it still legal and why is there such a lack of common sense when using it! Grrr. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope the rat terriers pull through. Maybe your neighbor should have just waited and borrowed your pups!!??!! Ugh.

Thankyou to all for your thoughts, it looks like the pups will be fine. They were bouncing off the walls again today so the Vet wants to watch them for another day and then they can come home.

Sorry for the short response, was mobbed by little nephew, lol. My wife went over to the neighbors house without my knowledge and from what I can tell gave him a blackeye,

. He isn't pressing charges as we have just as much to complain about. We'll work it out as neighbors do everyday.

We also have some new people moving into the area from the looks of it with construction. I asked the foreman and two new houses are going up, so I hope they are good people. Of course they will still be a good ten to twenty minute walk away from the house, lol.

Still searching the property with my shepherds.

So, I've opened my mouth and put my foot all the way down my throat.....
I do animal rescue and have for the last 30 years. I was called by one of the larger shelters this week to go and pick up a couple guinea pigs (yes, guinea pigs is what I do now) and while talking to the gal there told her I have chickens.....Her face would light up the darkest room ever.....appears this particular shelter gets SO many chickens that last week they had 26 hens in their garage. So, I am now on the "list" for chickens......God help me.......
