I believe our job here is done.

HA! You have just come to the worst enabler group on the planet. This is where the criminally obsessive finally end up because our friends and family will no longer listen to us talk about our chickens. No subject is off limits. We talk poufs and poop, feed and feather quality, predators and poachers. We'll laugh with you, cry with you, and let you rant when you're at wits end. Most of all we'll encourage you to enjoy every minute with your feathered babies. Welcome to heaven.

Again...you make me smile!

I can't wait for your eggs this week. Last night I dreamed I had the world's largest Lav Orpington. It seemed real.

I still haven't told my DH.

He knows about SOME of the eggs coming this way. I don't have any other addiction...not for clothes, shoes, unlawful substances...not one. Only for chickens. Who are you getting your silkies from? They are a hoot to have.

There is no cure, no intervention. Everytime I make room in the coop, I just add another project! I'll PM you on the Lav Am.

Is it bad that I have a definate broody and I am going to set some eggs under her today? Dont tell my hubby!

Shes a first timer though, so I dont know if she will follow through the whole 21 days! So I figured I'd set some of my eggs under her first. I put some lav ameraucana, EE and marans eggs under her. Cross your fingers!!

Yup, I'm definitely a chicken addict. We started with 5 and now have 34 with breeds ranging from Salmon Flavorelles, Black sex linked, Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, and many, many more.

I pour over the chicken books as a gardener would pour over the seed catalog. Now what can I get this season?

We've raised newborn chicks and have gotten mature hens. We've (inadvertently) gotten roosters (that have taught us a thing or two) and have learned many life lessons from these gentle creatures.

My blog even changed from being thrifty based on a newspaper column I had (which is why we got the chickens in the first place) to being solely about chickens. Honestly I can't say enough about them.

Yup, my name is Wendy and I'm a chicken addict.

No! My hen is a rooster

I truly feel comedies and dramas could be written about our chickens. Every day a new story unfolds...

How much for shipping on that broody???
I love when I have a broody...Mothers are infinitely better than the best incubator!!!! Plus I don't have to make all those hatching decisions!!!!! Really nice!
