Check Craigslist or Freecycle.
Post an ad on Craigslist describing what you are looking for and what you have to offer in trade.
I find good stuff in thrift stores, alleys, next to dumpsters, etc.
Just keep an eye out and an open mind and something will pop up!
Whatever you do, just make sure it is secure and weather-proof!
Have fun with it!
If you find something that you think might work, put a picture of it up here and we will toss out ideas on how to make it into a "chicken containment device"!
Seramas are small, right? If you want to build something, I would check with a local construction company to see if you can have leftover materials. Go to your hardware store and ask if they have culled lumber. Usually you will find some good lumber that has minor flaws. Even a dog crate would work...but not outside as its own structure. And IdealisticRoo is right. We'll help you out if you need it.
